ARMAND VERDIER | FINE UPHOLSTERY is a Buckinghamshire based upholstery workshop run by Armand Verdier. 

Armand started his training in 1998 in Le Havre, Normandy, France. This was followed by two years at the country’s most renowned school of arts and crafts, the Ecole Boulle in Paris, as well as a period spent gaining practical work experience at New University in Buckinghamshire, England.

Armand has spent many years perfecting his art whilst working in France, the UK and also a period in Myanmar (Burma) where he gained experience as a workshop manager. Armand has been based in the UK since 2003, including four years working for Angela Burgin, one of the UK’s leading experts in traditional upholstery and is a certified member of The Guild of Traditional Upholsterers

Now Based in Cheddington, Buckinghamshire Armand has his own workshop and spends much of his time working on private commissions as well as collaborating with antique dealers and interior designers.

Alongside his own work and commissions, Armand teaches the art of French upholstery in the United Kingdom. He began teaching in 2013 and since then has shown many students and experienced professionals the techniques involved in French upholstery. Armand Verdier, along with his tutor Laurent Lainé from the Ecole Boulle,  are the only individuals teaching the art of French upholstery in the UK.

Armand Verdier is currently planning to offer a 5 day French Squab Cushion course from his own workshop in May 2023 (SOLD OUT).
